Dear family, friends and readers of our website,
Almost 5 weeks ago we arrived in Quito, Ecuador. We have just completed our third week of Spanish lessons. 4 Hours each morning, 5 days a week + daily homework We already see the result of our hard work, which is great !!
We also just finished our third week of voluntary work during the afternoons.
Ecuador Volunteer, the organization we work with offered us various possibilities, we decided to join a
PROJECT with 32 children between 0 and 5 years old.
The parent(s) of these children have (irregular) jobs. Their children are in good hands during their absence and they don't have to stay at home alone nor do they have to go and live on the street.
The building was donated by PLAN International some 10 years ago. The PROJECT closed 4 years later. Last August a wonderful lady with a heart of gold restarted a PROJECT in the same building.
Unfortunately this 'gold' does not help to pay the bills and the PROJECT is in need of support.
